The fate of films is decided every Friday. The recently released film ‘Jug Jug Jio’ is struggling a lot in the second week at the box office. Despite having big names like Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, the film is not doing the kind of business that was expected. The magic of director Raj Mehta, who gave a banging hit like ‘Good News’ to Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is not working as before. There are many other Bollywood films like this film, which cost a lot but far from being a hit, they could not even cover the cost. Let us tell you which are those movies.

Tube light: Salman Khan starrer ‘Tubelight’ was released in the year 2017. This film was directed by Kabir Khan. Makers had high hopes from ‘Tubelight’, but it could do business of only 114.57 crores in the country. Made in 135 crores, this film could not even recover its cost.

Blur: This big budget film of Karan Johar had big stars like Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. Still, ‘Kalank’ proved to be a stigma at the box office. Made in a mega budget of 150 crores, this film was able to do business of only 80.03 crores in the country.

Bombay Velvet: The box office collection of Anurag Kashyap’s dream project ‘Bombay Velvet’ was also not very special. Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar were in important roles in this film. The film flopped badly on screen. Bombay Velvet did business of only 22.80 crores in India.

Mohenjodaro: Speculations were being made about this film directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar that this film would be a hit but due to many loop holes, ‘Mohenjodaro’ could not be understood by the audience. The film did a business of only Rs 53.66 crore in India.

Jagga The spy: After the breakup, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were seen together in the film ‘Jagga Jasoos’. The budget of this film of Anurag Basu was Rs 131 crore. The film did not turn out as it was projected and could only do business of Rs 52.61 crore.

Thugs of Hindostan: Despite having actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ could not do wonders on screen. The bigger the budget of this film, the smaller the earnings. The film could only do business of Rs 138.34 crore.
