The film ‘Mira Maa’ narrates the story of transgenders, has been screened till the Cannes Film Festival

Films like ‘Daira’ (1996), ‘Tamanna’ (1998), ‘Just Another Love Story’ (2010), ‘Nanu Avanalla Avalu’ (2015), ‘Najaan Merikutty’ (2018), and ‘Super Deluxe’ featured films of transgenders. Shows the story. Transgenders have been made the focal point in these movies. Apart from this, there are also some such films in Bollywood like ‘Sadak’, in which his villain’s character and comedy avatar have also been shown. The film ‘Mira Maa’ has also been included in this list, which portrays the story of trans. It is said to be the first Bollywood film to include trans characters.

The film will revolve around the life of Meera Parida, a transgender activist who has been very vocal about her opinion and has extended her support to all those who are in need. The biopic is helmed by SR Enterprises in association with GK Entertainment and produced by Rajesh Kumar Mohanty.

Talking about the same, Meera Parida said, ‘We need to look at this picture from the point of view of an Indian society, in general, Indians do not know what the word trans means. They have no clue that if you want to be a girl and be born in a boy’s body, you can turn into a girl – they are unfamiliar with the concept.’

He further said, ‘So this film is for all those people who think that transgenders are different or less than normal human beings. It will contain all our struggles that we face in our daily lives just because we were born separately. I am very excited and I can’t wait for the audience to watch the film. Producer of the film Mr. Rajesh Kumar Mohanty’s ‘Antardhwani’ received appreciation and appreciation from all over the world. It has been screened at several film festivals including the Cannes Film Festival.
