SS Rajamouli breaks silence on trolls for showing villains to British in RRR, said this

The discussions of Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer ‘RRR’ are now on the world level. This film of Rajamouli is making Indian cinema proud all over the world. The film did a great business at the box office by earning more than 1000 crores and after its theatrical run, it continues to be praised through OTT (RRR on OTT). Meanwhile, there has been a section of the audience who is criticizing SS Rajamouli for showing the British in a negative way. Now the director of the film himself has given his reaction on this.

British made villain in RRR

As the main villain in the film RRR, North Ireland actor Ray Stevenson plays the role of a British governor Scott Buxton. Even his wife Katherine (lison Doody) is shown as a brutal character. Pointing to the same, some viewers in the UK have been complaining about Rajamouli’s portrayal of his people poorly. Recently during an RRR screening in the US, SS Rajamouli addressed objections to the British being a villain in the film.

Rajamouli said, RRR is not a lesson but a story

Rajamouli said, ‘At the beginning of the film you see the disclaimer card. Even if you miss it, you will understand that this is not a lesson in history but a story. Usually the audience understands that if an Englishman is playing the role of a villain, then they think of him as such. I am not saying that all British are villains and if my heroes are Indians, they understand that all Indians are heroes. You have to understand that this is a story.

RRR liked by millions of American viewers despite opposition from English

SS Rajamouli further said, ‘In this film a special man is the villain and a special person is the hero. They themselves understand. They may not be knowledgeable of everything but their emotional intelligence is very high. Once we understand that as a storyteller, we do not need to worry about the peripheral things related to the outer fringes of a particular area. Interestingly, despite ‘RRR’ being criticized by some, the film did well at the UK box office. It earned 1144 crores worldwide. Some audiences in America even compared the friendship of Ram Charan and NTR to a gay story in the film, while many famous directors and writings have praised it openly.
