Comedian and actor Raju Srivastava, who fought for life and death at Delhi’s AIIMS Hospital for 41 days, passed away on Wednesday morning. Raju, popularly known as ‘Gajodhar Bhaiya’, was admitted to AIIMS Delhi for the last 41 days, because on August 10, Raju had a heart attack while working out in the gym. After leaving his unique mark in the entertainment world, Raju Srivastava had stepped into politics apart from comedy, but could not do anything special in it.
Raju Srivastava, who made people laugh with his comedy, had decided to enter politics from his birthplace Kanpur. For this, he had also entered the electoral fray on behalf of the Samajwadi Party. In the month of March 2014, Samajwadi Party gave ticket to Raju Srivastava for the Lok Sabha elections from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, but Raju Srivastava suddenly surprised everyone by returning the SP ticket on March 11 and decided not to contest the elections. Regarding returning the SP ticket, Raju had argued that the SP unit of Kanpur was not cooperating with him and also not following the instructions of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav.

However, after this decision of Raju Srivastava, it seemed that he was disillusioned with politics very soon and now he would distance himself from politics, but on March 19, 2014, a few days after his separation from the SP, Raju Srivastava made the Indian public. Joined the party. It is said that Raju Srivastava was impressed by the popularity of PM Modi at that time and that is why he joined the BJP. Raju was also involved in campaigning for the BJP. However, he could not contest the election.
Raju got ‘reward’ for joining BJP
After a massive victory in 2014, when the BJP-led NDA government was formed at the Center, Raju Srivastava was nominated by PM Modi for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Apart from this, Raju Srivastava was still working as the President of Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council. He got this responsibility in the year 2019. Speaking to News18 Hindi after becoming the chairman, Srivastava had once said that why should we wander in Mumbai for years, while many people go there from Delhi, UP, MP and Bihar only. If a film city is made here, then many regional writers will get a chance to work here and show their skills.
