reality The show ‘Lock Up Winner’ has got the winner of the first season. After struggling for basic needs for 70 days, Munawwar Farooqui has emerged as the winner of the show. In the last of Kangana Ranaut’s show, five finalists Payal Rohatgi, Anjali Arora, Azam Falah and Shivam Sharma were also finalists. Along with the trophy, Munavwar also received a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh and a new car. It was unlike other reality shows because here the winner was not chosen on the basis of votes alone. Host Kangana also gave Munavvar a chance to speak for the last time.

Munawar Faruqui Win Lock Upp got the most votes and Kangana also chose him as the ultimate winner. Munavvar was accompanied by the top 3 finalists Anjali Arora and Payal Rohatgi. Kangana Ranaut announced that Munawwar Farooqui got more than 18 lakh votes and made it to the top 3. Kangana told on her Instagram account that the finale episode has got 10 million views.

Munawar Faruqui Controversy got the entry in the show because of his controversies. He spent a month in jail for allegedly “insulting Hindu deities” during one of his shows last year. After being released on bail, many of his shows were cancelled. In a statement, Munawwar later said, that he was imprisoned for a joke he had never made up.

Munavvar came out of the comfort zone

Munavvar also indicated that he had to do with comedy. After coming out of jail, he wrote in a tweet, “Hate won, artist lost. That’s it, bye. Injustice.” Before entering the show, Munawwar had told The Indian Express in an interview that the ‘lock up’ would put him out of his comfort zone.

Munavwar never wanted to be in controversies

However, when Munawwar Farooqui was asked what did he do to pick a show that could spark controversy, he said, “First of all, I don’t think there is anything wrong in being controversial. It only means that people haven’t heard your side of the story, or you may have been taken out of context. I never wanted to be a part of controversies. I immediately removed the part of my video that offended people. It was the public who ran it for almost a year and made it news. I never wanted to be a controversy, they made me.
