Aamir Khan And Juhi Chawla starrer ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ was a superhit film of the year 1988. This is one of the most watched and liked films of Aamir. This film was directed by Mansoor Khan. Aamir made his Bollywood debut with this film. Actor Dalip Tahil also played an important role in the film. He was in the role of Aamir’s father in the film. But do you know that when he played Aamir’s father, he was only 31 years old.
Dalip Tahil spoke about it in a new interview and told how producer Nasir Hussain had asked him to play Aamir’s father in the film. Dalip told The Times of India that he got ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ after his TV show ‘Buniyaad’. He told that Nasir Hussain was also the writer of this film.
When Dalip Tahil asked Nasir where he sees him, the writer-producer replied that he saw his performance in ‘Buniyaad’ and was sure that he would be able to play the role. Dalip described his role of father as a powerful and emotional father in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’.
Dalip Tahil reveals that many big stars had turned down ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. He had then said that he was only 31 years old when he played the role, but he didn’t even think about his age even once before signing the film. He also said that till that time he was not even married. Dalip further said that initially Sanjeev Kumar and Shammi Kapoor were supposed to act in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’.
Dalip Tahil said that Nasir Hussain was about to direct at this time. However, he suffered a heart attack and was advised not to take the pressure of filmmaking on himself. And thus Mansoor Khan took over the director’s chair. But Mansoor Khan flatly refused to work with stalwarts like Sanjeev Kumar and Shammi Kapoor, whom Nasir Hussain wanted to cast.
