Bobby Deol’s pain for not being able to do Jab We Met, said about Imtiaz Ali – ‘Everyone has compulsions’

Bobby Deol is rocking the screen after a long time. Bobby, who was seen in a strong avatar in the web series ‘Ashram’, also came to a point in his life when his career went downhill due to lack of good films and then after a long break he started again. It is said that Bobby was earlier going to be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s popular and superhit film ‘Jab We Met’, but it could not happen, which he is very sad about.

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan were seen playing the lead pair in the superhit film ‘Jab We Met’ released in the year 2007. Bobby Deol was also to be cast in the film. In an interview, Bobby spoke openly about this.

‘Everyone has compulsions’
In an old interview given to BBC, he said that now I had said this thing many years ago in an interview. This happens with every actor. I do not want to say this again because Imtiaz was a very good friend of mine at one time and I want to respect this friendship of mine. But everyone has compulsions and decisions have to be taken under compulsion. Decisions taken even for friends may seem good to one friend and bad to another, it goes on like this.

‘Imtiaz took his own decision’
In an interview given in the year 2017, Bobby had said that I had come to know that Ashtavinayak had signed Imtiaz for ‘Jab We Met’ and Kareena Kapoor was going to do it. Kareena had chosen her then boyfriend Shahid Kapoor to work opposite her. I said – wow great, what an industry. We were also going to do ‘Highway’ together but once again he (Imtiaz) took his own decision.

Bobby told Imtiaz, I will not watch any of your films
Bobby said that but I have nothing in my mind for him. He is a great director and doing a great job. We are still friends but I always tell him – Imtiaz, I will not watch any of your films unless you make a film with me and it will be your best film.
